Prenatal
Heather would hope to meet with you and your partner twice before birth to get to know one another, discuss your priorities, birth wishes, fears or concerns. You would be able to get acquainted and explore the best wishes situation for your family. This includes guiding you when making your birth plan, discussing your preferences regarding pain, positioning, and interventions, practice spinning babies and positions to be helpful in labor and determining what you and your partner would like to get from having a doula with you during this process.

Labor
Once you approach active labor, she will support you at your home if desired, or meet you at the hospital or birth center. Except for extraordinary circumstances, she will remain with you throughout your labor, birth and postpartum. If for any reason your labor goes beyond 24 hours, she will respectfully call her back-up in for additional support to ensure that you are getting the best care. She will do what works best for you and your birth at the time. |
Postpartum and Beyond
Your support does not end after birth. Heather is dedicated to ensuring you and your partner are equipped with resources and tools to have a supported and successful fourth trimester. Heather will visit you one to two weeks post delivery to debrief your labor experience, assist with lactation questions and support if needed and make sure that your family is set up with any additional postpartum resources you might need. Once the postpartum visit is over, Heather remains available via text and phone for questions.
